I took my own advice and this is what happenedApr 18, 2021
Let's talk about the ins/outs of decision-making.
I approach all decision-making by leveraging my internal GPS. It's a "global positioning system" (GPS) that I have developed and cultivated over the last 18 years and it has served me well. It is based on a combination of intuition, energy patterns, and soul wisdom.
So, when it is time to make a decision, I consult with my internal GPS. One of my personal guiding principles is that the answers that I seek must be congruent and aligned with my internal GPS.
When it came time to decide if I was going to take my husband's last name anxiety fired off on all cylinders. It's a HUGE change.
I became Kelly Geisler in 2003 and I have grown into the Geisler last name for the past 17 years.
- I crossed the threshold of motherhood when I was a Geisler (4 times!).
- I navigated a painful divorce as a Geisler. Which led me to transformed everything that I knew about myself as a Geisler.
- I went back to corporate America after being a stay-at-home Mom for 9 years as a Geisler.
- I earned my PMP certification as a Geisler.
- I earned my MBA raising 4 kiddos and working full time as a Geisler.
You get the point... I did a lot in my life as a Geisler and that meant something to me.
And yet, I was on a transformational journey that happened to culminate right around the time I was getting remarried (that is NOT a coincidence - it's how the Universe operates).
Leaning in and leveraging my internal GPS, I sought guidance on my pending name change, and for reasons that I don’t fully understand, I knew the decision was to change my last name. Part of me knew that it was another piece of my transformation and my mental/emotional side certainly had many other things to say. So I did what I always do - I trusted my internal GPS.
A part of the Feminine Power principles that I teach and coach is building, cultivating, leaning into, and trusting your internal GPS. If you came to me with this dilemma, I would have used my tools to help you discover your answer. I would have 100% held for you that your answer was your truth and it was the right answer for you because it was aligned with your inner GPS.
So, I took my own advice. Even though I don’t fully understand the ‘why’ just yet… I know with 100% certainty it was the right decision for me and my trust in my inner GPS is unwavering (still after 18 years).
We don't always know the 'why' and that doesn't need to stop us from making a decision.
