This past week I attended a meeting with speaker Marie Anne about Biodecoding, “A New Way to Decode the Meaning of Dis-Ease.” Biodecoding is a therapeutic tool to more quickly target the core emotion associated with a symptom. I was a little skeptical about going because I had never heard of anything like this before. But I was happy I went and I bought the book to learn more.

German doctor, Dr. R.G. Hamer discovered the biological and emotional origins of cancer and disease after his own diagnosis of testicular cancer. He discovered 5 new laws underlying the root cause of cancer and its spontaneous healing.

Here’s my summary after listening to the presentation.

Diseases are caused by emotions. Specifically, a very precise emotional conflict which is serious, painful, and takes the person off guard and into shock. Exceptions include malnutrition, poisoning and shock.

Target-shaped rings appear on a brain CT-scan after a trauma. The location of the rings on the brain scan is determined by how the person perceives their traumatic situation. From the location of those rings the organ affected can be determined.

The organ affected is directly associated with the emotional conflict. The example given was from Dr. Hamer’s own experience of experiencing testicular cancer following the death of his son.

Disease develops in two distinct phases: the active (cancer) phase, and the resolution / repair phase. During the active phase there is growth and more cells and more oxygen. During the repair phase there is ulceration and necrosis (cell loss).

The body is always working to ensure survival. It is always working in our favor.

When cancer appears on the body, there is growth of abnormal cells in the body. The purpose is to improve biological functioning and heal the body. In the case of lung cancer, the extra cells are allowing the body to receive more oxygen. When the cells are first growing the person feels energized and good.

The body will naturally destroy the extra cells, which will then cause the patient to feel sick.

Microbes, fungi, bacteria, viruses, etc all play a key role in the balance of our external and internal eco-system.

The natural process is for a tumor to completely deconstruct and dissolve after a healing. However, often the body has lost some of the microbes necessary to complete the job, and the tumor will remain.

If a doctor discovers a tumor at this stage, it will be determined that it is “benign”.

This means that diseases are not here to bother or kill us but rather they are here to improve our biological functioning to increase our chance to survive.

Final thoughts from their website:

“The fifth law allows us to make peace with cancer and all diseases. In the light of this discovery, it is clear that illness is a beneficial and peaceful process that needs to be understood and respected. Biology is simple and logical. Biology has only ONE program : LIFE. It executes the life-program relentlessly every second of our life since the day we were born.”

Great information!

This past weekend I spent some time at Natural Products Expo which took place at the Anaheim Convention Center. This is the largest natural products expo in the world with over 3,000 vendors, and thousands of people wandering through sampling the various products. It is a nice reminder that behind every product is a group of people that are passionate about their product(s).

Some pharmaceutical highlights for me:

TOE FUNGUS TREATMENT

Toe fungus causes the toe to become thick and yellow and just not pretty. To treat with pharmaceuticals, the best option is a drug called terbinafine (Lamisil) which should be taken by mouth daily for one week a month for three months. Side effects of Lamisil? As with all antifungal drugs, has the potential to cause liver problems. In some rare cases Lamisil has caused liver failure. It has also been linked to very severe skin reactions called Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. So this very toxic medication will travel through the body and affect all organ systems in the body – just to treat a fungal infection in the toe? And may cause liver failure. Really?

There must be a better way . . . I saw a new product called Citrusway – an all natural product with citrus extract that has helped clear up “even the worst cases of fingernail fungus” within 8 weeks!

LICE

Lice is often a problem in school age children, and is treated with toxic pesticides permethrin and pyrethrin. These products are not only toxic, but some strains of lice are becoming resistant to it. www.FairyLiceMothers.com has a line of products used to get rid of the lice by killing an enzyme that they need to survive. Fairy LiceMothers’ MagicMousse is an enzyme that breaks down the exoskeleton of the louse and it is unable to survive. And other random highlights: GLOWRITE Love the

GLOWRITE SIGNS! The Write-on, Wipe-off illuminated Signs

www.Glowrite.com

SAMPLES, SAMPLES, and MORE SAMPLES!!

Of pizza, pasta, crackers, ice cream, chocolate, chicken, veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs, gummy vitamins, snack bars, chips, breakfast items, juices, natural sodas, water, probiotics, etc, etc . . . Variety of products for the household, natural pet foods, clothing, soap, lotions, shoes, juicers, cleanses.

I’ve been gradually switching over to products that are natural, non-toxic. I have non-toxic skin products from Optimal Health Institute, and TKO Orange for cleaning my kitchen, bathroom, tile floors, and carpet stains. Also I use Tom’s natural toothpaste. Now I have a few samples of natural cleaning products to use for laundry soap, and samples of Jane Carter’s Solution for the hair.

OMG SPORTS SPRAY

Is a natural product, used to deodorize everything in your gym bag – naturally! www.OMGspray.com

These are just a few of the many highlights of a sensory-overloaded weekend!

I just spent the weekend at the Health Freedom Expo in Long Beach. Here are some of my highlights from the event.

GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) Awareness Movement – Many of the common brands of food are now genetically modified. In November California citizens will have an opportunity to vote on a measure that will require labels on genetically modified foods. Be sure to sign the petition to get it on the November ballot. http://www.labelgmos.org/

Miracle Stem Cell Heart Repair, by Christian Wilde – Once a heart attack scars the tissue of the heart, the area of the muscle is permanently and irrevocably damaged, leading to congestive heart failure and possibility of sudden death. However, there is amazing progress happening with stem cell therapy. There has always been the controversy about the ethics of using an unborn fetus. However, now they are using stem cells from the patient’s body! Christian Wilde has compiled the information and written a book ,which I will be reading in the next week. http://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Stem-Cell-Heart-Repair/dp/1599750546

George Noory Panel – Had a great panel of speakers hosted by Coast to Coast AM radio host George Noory. The speakers included :

- author of Natural Cures They Don’t Want You To Know About and natural health activist Kevin Trudeau
- Leonard Caldwell is the world’s leading authority for cancer cures and claims that every cancer is curable – in 2 to 16 weeks!
- Christian Wilde – author of Miracle Stem Cell Heart Repair
- Andrew Wakefield – author of Callous Disregard, Autism and Vaccines – The Truth Behind a Tragedy
- Patricia Bragg, whose father started the Bragg Live Foods company one hundred years ago!

It was great to see these powerful leaders combine their energies!

Orange TKO – I got to stock up on my favorite cleaning product which I use for cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, mopping the floors, stains in the carpet, and sometimes for laundry. Is non-toxic and smells good (like oranges)!  http://www.tkoorange.com/

Dr. Robert Verkerk – runs the European Alliance for Natural Health, fighting the regulators who want to created regulations that will push natural products off the store shelves and make them illegal. I’ve been emailing him back and forth for a few years, and was excited when I saw him walk by and then was able to meet and talk to him.

Vibration Machines – There were three or four vendors carrying these vibration machines that are becoming more and more trendy. You stand on them for 10 minutes at a time and they shake up all your cells and organs – great for circulation!

Was a nice weekend, good to go and reconnect with those who are passionate about natural health and alternative medicine!

As patents expire drug companies do everything they can to keep the profits going: extending the patent, reinventing the drug with a new name, lawsuits against generic drug companies as a delay tactic, and more. Recently Pfizer, in all of its ingenuity (that might be better spent on saving lives rather than profits), has come up with one more way to continue to profit off a well branded drug:

“Pfizer has developed a novel program that lets people stay on Lipitor, even as more competitors prepare to enter the market. Patients can sign up to get a $4 co-pay card that will allow them to get their prescription filled at generic prices through the company’s new program, “Lipitor For You.”

In the U.S., the company is offering to sell Lipitor at generic prices to health plans and to pharmacies and pharmaceutical distributors who agree to fill prescriptions with its product instead of an unbranded version.

The effort is part of a broader push by Pfizer to keep patients on the brand-name drug. The blockbuster medicine generated tens of billions of dollars in revenue for Pfizer over its patent life.”

When we think of health some of us think of a pill; while others think of exercise, clean air, and fresh foods.

The prior can be found in the majority of American communities through doctors, clinics, hospitals, and corner pharmacies. But what about the latter?

We already know from studies that diabetes and obesity risk increases in urban neighborhoods that do not have access to decent grocery stores or farmers markets.

Common sense might also tell us that people are more willing to toss a Frisbee, go for a jog, or take a bike ride on safe paths and in enjoyable areas; rather than in areas already clogged with cars or where there are structures that create obstacles for pedestrians, or where there are few open and safe areas for sports.

“ The traditional American diet is not well balanced with healthy foods. Eating habits are passed on within families, influenced by the media, and predisposed to fast food. Access to healthy food is not a shared resource for everyone. Some folks live within food deserts where fresh fruits and vegetables are hard to find.

We can all turn a blind eye to the rising rates of childhood obesity and blame it on the individual. But nobody lives in a vacuum. We know the place where one lives can be a contributing factor to a child’s health issues. Take a look at your community and make sure it is walkable, bikeable, offers healthy eating choices and educates everyone on what it takes to live a healthy life. Don’t wait for someone else to take the lead. Organize a group of interested parties and watch the movement grow.”

Pharmaceutical industries are always trying to make a profit and save a dime. A recent example of this is Intermezzo, which beneath all of the glamour and “miracles” is nothing more than a low dose Ambien.

“Richmond-based Transcept Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday won regulatory approval for a drug the company developed to treat a form of insomnia in which a person wakes in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep…The company’s shares rose 73 cents, or 11 percent, to close at $7.34.

Intermezzo is the first drug the FDA has approved for people to take in the middle of the night after their rest is interrupted, and they have trouble dozing off again.

Intermezzo is a low-dose, fast-acting version of zolpidem tartrate, the active ingredient in Ambien, a drug developed by the French firm Sanofi, which was first approved for sale in the United States in 1992.”

Source

Generic versions of Ambien started being approved by the FDA in 2007. Way to re-invent the patent for another round- just lower the dose and call it the middle of the night sleeping pill.

As we know, drugs cause side effects. Many people are on a multitude of drugs, not because they had multiple illnesses when they walked into the doctors office for the first time, but because they need to control the side effects of the first medication (and then the second, and the third, and so on) that they were prescribed to suppress the symptoms of the original illness.

One man’s personal story of struggle against the pharmaceutical industry highlights this:

Vitamin A, taken in excess, is believed to cause depression. Yet Accutane is a “molecular cousin” of Vitamin A. In 2001, Dr. Doug Bremner found a causal relationship between Accutane and depression—a relationship believed to have resulted in hundreds of teen suicides and homicides.

“Manufacturer Hoffman-LaRoche did not welcome Bremner’s findings. In fact, according to Bremner, the drug giant launched a campaign to discredit him that was ‘designed to suppress his findings and destroy his career and livelihood.’ Written in a tremendously informal, nearly stream-of-consciousness style, The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg is a memoir of sorts that chronicles his experiences researching Accutane and warring with Hoffman-LaRoche, and the effects they had on him both professionally and personally.”
